Hi all,
We will begin marking your blogs from Tuesday 21st June so you need to have completed them all by this date. We will mark what you have posted, therefore make sure you have completed any outstanding blogs.
Please note: Presentation practice will begin next Tuesday 21st June and on 28th June. This will be the only chance to practise your presentation and get feedback before the final presentations begin on the 5th July onwards. May I remind you that these presentations are worth 40% of your total mark and therefore are very important. Please start working on your presentations now if you have not done so already.
Keep focused, only four more weeks left on your course. These are VERY important weeks.

Week 7 Social class
Hi all,
This week we will be learning about social class in the UK. Traditionally people have been classed as working class, middle class or upper class.
We will watch the programme called 'Shop Girl to It Girl', which you can find by following this link: http://www.channel4.com/programmes/faking-it/4oD#2922253
Based on the notes that you made while watching the programme, summarise the differences between a northern working class girl and an urban upper class girl. Think about the areas of general behaviour, voice/accent, posture and appearance. What tasks were undertaken by the 3 people assigned to help her change? Did any of the differences particularly surprise you?
Additional task: try to find out where the word posh comes from. What does it mean? See http://www.phrases.org.uk/
